Digital Content Coordinator - Digital InitiativesJob Number : 44215Are you a digital-content professional who is passionate about supporting the community to create, share, discover, and celebrate local content Are you motivated by working to improve web-content sharing platforms and user experience Edmonton Public Library is looking for a confident and dynamic Digital Content Coordinator to join our team!As a member of our collaborative Digital Initiatives team, you will advance EPL’s support for digital content creation, including Indigenous Digital Storytelling initiatives. The successful candidate will support the development, continuous improvement, and day-to-day administration of digital content platforms such as voicesoftheland.org, focusing on user training, user experience, accessibility, and web-based service development.Your knowledge of web best practices, including information architecture and web content management systems, will allow you to hit the ground running in this role. As the ideal candidate, you will have an engaging approach to instructing others, be creative and analytical in developing services or troubleshooting, and enjoy the challenges of learning and working with diverse digital technology and devices. Other key success factors include your experience with leading focus groups, training, practical research, systems analysis, writing copy, and explaining technical concepts in layperson terms.Qualifications :

  • Related degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. Certificate in web design or development is an asset.
  • Master of Library and Information Studies degree, or equivalent, from an ALA-accredited institution is desirable.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience is required. Experience in a large public sector, institutional or commercial organization is an asset.
What do you need to bring to this position
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working with web technologies, particularly web content management systems.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and good understanding of XML and JavaScript.
  • Superior writing, instruction, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Good research and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to work positively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • A commitment to uphold the Canadian Federation of Library Associations position statements on Intellectual Freedom and Diversity and Inclusion.

  • Approximately $60,866 - $77,698 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.This is a new position. The Employer and the Union are currently discussing the classification and working conditions.
