Director, Business PerformanceLocation: Edmonton, AlbertaPosition Overview:Our client, who is an international industry leader and one of the largest industrial linen and laundry companies in Canada, is looking for a Director, Business Performance. In this dynamic and challenging role, the Director, Business Performance will take an active hands-on leadership role to support and drive operational efficiencies and achieve business success across the company #39;s facilities in Canada. As a seasoned business leader, you will work closely with senior leadership and General Managers, helping the organization make sound strategic business decisions.This is a highly visible role that demands a self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The right candidate will bring both business acumen and leadership skills, ensuring that business cases, profitability analysis, and return on capital are optimally managed.Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Support:
  • Strategic advisor to General Managers and other senior leaders, providing insights and analysis that enable sound business decision-making across various operational aspects.
  • Financial Analysis:
  • Perform business cases, profitability assessments, and return on investment analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Leadership:
  • Lead a high-performing team (two direct reports) who assist with the execution of mandates.
  • When required, provide leadership and guidance to General Managers and other senior colleagues, even in the absence of direct line authority
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, responding to RFPs, conducting payback analysis, and providing general operational support.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Drive business process improvements and optimizing resources and workflows across the company.
  • Team Environment:
  • Foster a collaborative and energetic work culture.
  • Strategic Input:
  • Support the COO and executive team with actionable insights derived from financial modeling, spreadsheet analysis, and an acute understanding of internal operations, the competitive landscape and market risks and opportunities.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Educational Background:
    • CPA or MBA background may be considered an asset, but is not required. More than your educational background, previous relevant work experiences and successes achieved is crucial.
  • Leadership:
  • A natural leader with a track record of motivating teams and delivering results. Possess high EQ, demonstrating self-awareness and thoughtfulness to team members. Comfortable making tough decisions and influencing stakeholders.
  • Businessamp; Financial Acumen:
  • Expert understanding of P amp;L, and payback analysis. Ability to interpret and work with complex financial models.
  • Personality Traits:
  • Self-motivated, and entrepreneurial. Someone who is empathetic, understands the challenges of running multiple operations, and enjoys helping others succeed. Inherently competitive.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expert in Excel and capable of handling complex financial data. In-depth experience with ERP and MRP systems is considered an asset.
  • Team-Oriented:
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with like-minded team players.

  • A bright individual with a passion for growing and helping others grow, while handling multiple responsibilities effectively.
