Job Description

Driver - Collection Management and Access Division (Temporary position until January 31, 2023)Job Number : 45097Edmonton Public Library (EPL) is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable team player to join the Materials Delivery Team as a Driver. This position would be ideal if you enjoy a fast paced work environment and providing excellent customer service. As a Driver you will be part of a small and energetic team. You will provide pick-up and delivery services. You will operate a delivery vehicle to collect and deliver EPL materials to all branch locations as well as to other organizations. As the ideal candidate, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner.Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma (or GED) is essential.
  • A minimum of two years of related work experience (e.g. delivery driver).
  • Must possess a valid Alberta Operators License.
Note: Satisfactory background screening is required for this position which include a security screening and Driver Abstract.What do you need to bring to this position
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute positively and work effectively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of the transportation systems (streets and freeways) within the City of Edmonton
  • The ability to regularly perform a variety of physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying various materials in excess of 50 lbs
  • Physical mobility/agility to perform tasks in a variety of environments with exposure to adverse weather conditions
  • Some mechanical knowledge and ability is an asset
