Job Description

We dare to be different and it shows through our exceptional hospitality and attitude.The perfect candidate will have a wealth of hospitality experience and definite attention to detail as our goal is to leave our guests with an unparalleled event experience.The event manager is responsible for exceptional client management from the first initial meeting to the conclusion of the client’s event. A high-level of customer service and the motto of exceeding customer expectations is the standard. To be successful in this role, the event manager must have a strong skill set in project and event management with proficient computer skills and great attention to detail.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the sales manager to plan, develop and manage events
  • Liaise with clients to identify their needs and to exceed customer satisfaction
  • Provide feedback and timely reports to executive team such as pre- and post- evaluations and report on outcomes to improve provided services and overall event quality
  • Advising and counseling colleagues on customer comments, concerns, and challenges, to ensure effective and efficient delivery of events, or resolve outstanding issues post event
  • Create BEO’s for implementation to be sent out to all departments and staff to ensure the success of the full cycle of events
  • Conduct food tastings for clients
  • Organize and manage all event details such as audio visual, decor, catering, entertainment, equipment and staffing
  • Specify all production and onsite staff requirements and coordinate their activities
  • Oversee the event on the floor and proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day to ensure the event runs smoothly for the client
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations such as AGLC, OH&S, fire marshall codes
REQUIREMENTS
  • Post-Secondary education or certificate in either Event Management, Business Management, Communications, Marketing, Design or any other related field OR minimum of 2 years’ experience in the events industry
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Sales skills and success in building and developing productive business relationships with clients and internal departments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Expectation to respond to client and supplier inquiries within 24 business hours
  • Experience in a team environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Google apps such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Work, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday during business hours plus evenings and weekends as required
  • Must be able to work in Canada
