This is an amazing culinary opportunity!!We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented, trend-conscious Executive Chef with a hands-on management approach and a background in full service hotels to lead our culinary team towards continued success in this ever-changing industry.The Executive Chefs main responsibilities include:

  • Directing all aspects of food preparation, quality and presentation for all culinary operations including Stages Kitchen & Bar, our Catering/Banquet functions as well as the 450 seat Mayfield Dinner Theatre and Stewarding department.
  • Adhere to financial forecasts, budgeting, food costs and labour management
  • Inventory
  • Purchasing
  • Menu development
  • Scheduling, hiring and payroll; knowledgeable of Avanti an asset
  • training and development of culinary team members
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed for our team members, clients and guests
Qualifications for this position:
  • A passion for food!! Do what you love!
  • 6 years of culinary management experience in busy, full service operations
  • Inter-provincial Red Seal Cook designation is required
  • Food Safe Level 1 & 2 certifications
  • Strong Leadership and management skills
  • Knowledgeable of Alberta Employment Standards and Alberta Human Rights and Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Standards for the operation
  • Understands up to date certifications for safe food handling and responsible alcoholic beverage service
  • Proficient in Human Resources functions such as recruitment, corrective actions, performance reviews, training, coaching, team building
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Respectful approach and demeanor
  • Able to foster relationships with key sources such as suppliers
  • Outstanding organizational skills and highly proficient at multi-tasking
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Passion for providing excellent customer/guest service
  • Excellent computer skills - proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and experience with Micros, Delphi or similar property management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively leading, coaching and working in a team environment
  • Knows and implements the Hilton brands standards
  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
