Job Description

CKUA also offers bright, modern workspaces from the beautifully restored Alberta Hotel in Edmonton and Calgary Foundation CKUA Studio at Studio Bell (when we are not working remotely).Our team currently seeks aMarketing CoordinatorTo provide marketing, social, and digital media and graphic design expertise to support CKUA’s mission to build and connect a global community of music, arts, and culture enthusiasts through in-person, broadcast, and online programming. Working in an ever-evolving arts and culture environment and media landscape, the Marketing Coordinator will apply their technical skill and knowledge with creating digital, social and web content and coordinating the distribution of that content across all CKUA channels.Your responsibilities include:Marketing Coordination

  • Collaboration with Marketing team to positively share CKUA’s story and brand with consistency across all touchpoints
  • Social media engagement with users on social media with unparalleled speed, accuracy, and delight
  • Creative excellence with graphic design for digital and print projects
  • Create engaging, shareable digital content including compelling copy and visuals that are on-brand
  • Lead asset collection (images, social handles, creative ideas) within CKUA and externally
  • Maintain Marketing trackers/calendars and help to keep projects on time and moving forward
  • Contribute to developing and executing an annual marketing, sales and sponsorship plan that supports CKUA’s goals and desired outcomes audience and revenue development
  • Support to create, edit, and publish content for website (WordPress knowledge is an asset)
  • Collect, collate, and track metrics and analyze that data for campaigns and other initiatives
  • Anticipate and respond to opportunities and issues
  • Keep current on music, arts and cultural news and entertainment in Alberta and globally
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Marketing, Sales, and Sponsorship Manager
Working with the Marketing, Sales and Sponsorship Manager, department colleagues, and cross-department colleagues, the Marketing Coordinator’s direct contributions ensure the audience journey leads to long-term financial sustainability for CKUA and is representative of the CKUA brand and mission as a donor-supported, community-centric entity.You have proven the ability to:
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with multiple stakeholder groups and reflective of CKUA values: Community | Diversity | Inclusion | Creativity | Curiosity | Authenticity
  • Demonstrate their curiosity to research, collect and create story content and strategically distribute the content to grow market awareness.
  • Bring innovation to telling CKUA’s story in the social and digital sphere. Planning, writing, and posting creative content to build and connect a global audience of music, arts, and culture enthusiasts.
  • Translate CKUA’s brand voice into multi-channel assets that achieve specific marketing goals. This includes elevating the brand experience to cultivate and convert CKUA audiences into donors.
  • Collect information and insight to improve the CKUA experience across all touchpoints. This involves creating, executing, and analyzing content for CKUA’s owned channels and developing tools and messaging to help others spread the word about CKUA.
  • Exemplify skill and knowledge of Google and social media analytics, and graphic design, print and digital production (taking photos and video is an asset).
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, WordPress CM, Premiere Pro, Final Cut (or even iMovie), Canva and Mailchimp.
You have gained valuable marketing and communications experience and interpersonal relationship skills. You will demonstrate a high degree of respect and sensitivity for teammates, community members and stakeholders.
