This Financial Analyst will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting related to Stantec’s global corporate real estate portfolio and equipment leasing activities. They will work closely with Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Accounts Payable and other internal departments as well as with external service providers, including landlords.Your Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing lease and sublease agreements to assess their accounting implications
  • Verifying the accuracy of CoStar, our leases database, and coordinating updates
  • Coordinating monthly lease payments and related variance analysis
  • Preparing complex journal entries
  • Performing related balance sheet reconciliations and continuities
  • Preparing related financial statement note disclosures
  • Assisting in the 5-day period end close process including identifying any issues and the action required to correct them to ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting
QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials
  • Effective communication skills, including written and oral English language competency
  • A very high degree of accuracy in analyzing contracts, data and financial processing
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and firm deadlines
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams and Oracle
  • A proactive and responsive customer service approach
  • Excellent problem solving skills, demonstrating initiative and assertiveness
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in person and while remote
  • An understanding of real estate or other leases agreements and experience with lease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16, CoStar Real Estate Manager, and BlackLine would be considered an asset.
