The heart of our brand is all about providing people with an outlet for self-care and self-expression; a place for having fun, being bold and non-apologetic about who we are.Fancii is seeking to fulfill a full-time, permanent position in the capacity of Financial Controller to lead the Finance team and manage the financial responsibilities of our growing e-commerce business internationally.Working from our Edmonton headquarters, the Financial Controller will report to the President, with a goal of overseeing transactional day-to-day accounting, payroll, financial reporting requirements, and alignment of management strategies with the financial position of the organization. Together with our other international operating divisions, our Financial Controller will help to ensure the business is operating efficiently and effectively in all areas of accounting, payroll, cash flow and business analytics.Duties & Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and Analytics· Oversee general accounting operations and review of financial recordkeeping of external bookkeeping team.· Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for Canada, US, and international operations of Fancii.· Maintain an accurate and complete audit trail of supporting documentation for all financial records and bookkeeping activities.· Establish financial reporting policies and procedure documentation for Fancii of all applicable financial and accounting issues in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).· Ensure records are accurate, expenses are paid, and incoming revenue is collected, proper tracking of A/R and A/P· Prepare and distribute quarterly financial reports and forecasts, analyzing discrepancies from budget and long-term business strategies· Present financial reporting and analytics to management and recommendation of measures to mitigate negative results or capitalize on missed opportunitiesCash Management· Oversee and sign-off on the issuance of payment of all invoices as a signing authority on all payment methods in accordance with dual signing authority controls and safeguards of cash -- payment methods include cheques, direct deposit, ACH, Wire Transfers, credit cards, bill payments, and preauthorized auto-withdrawals.· Review and finalize proforma cashflows, analysis, and corporate budgets in meeting the banking/financial reporting requirements to satisfy covenants· Oversee cash flow requirements of within the organization including, international corporate bank accounts credit card accounts, and corporate short-term and long-term credit facilities.Management of Financial Operations & Financial Process Controls· Establish major economic objectives and policies for Fancii and prepare reports that outline the Fanciis financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.· Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization· Facilitate operational strategies with the Purchasing and Procurement, Inventory Management, and the Logistics Team and advise on cost management, cost control measures and the cost effectiveness of their program areas.· Coordinate audits and international supplier relationships.· Coaching and mentoring financial team to ensure individual and departmental goals/objectives are achieved· Assist with the preparation of cash pro-formas, budget analysis, and other ad-hoc reports in a timely and accurate manner.· Perform a review and assessment of new and existing customer and/or supplier contracts to align with corporate profitability risk management thresholds (agreement conditions, forecasting, direct costs, pricing, payment terms,/or and rebate programs).Corporate Governance & Organizational Strategy· Facilitate process improvements to current organizational structure to foster accountability and good corporate governance practices.· Be aware of tax changes or potential issues - consulting and cooperating with external accountants with tax planning and tax optimization opportunities.· Establishing and overseeing new financial controls, processes, and procedures - properly allocating duties throughout and overseeing each stepQualifications:
