Job Description

Radisson Hotel Edmonton South is currently recruiting for a dynamic individual to fill the position of Demi Chef de Partie.The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hospitality and food safety are demonstrated at all times when creating memorable meals for our guests in the daily operation of our Lion’s Head Pub.Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Daily operation of our Lion’s Head Pub as well as assisting in other Food Outlets throughout the operation
  • Checking and maintaining of food quality standards, adjusting preparation methods and together with the Executive Kitchen Team, adjusting the menu as needed
  • Ensures the consistency in the preparation of all food items based on the hotel recipes and standards
  • Completes daily checks of all mis en place to ensure quality
  • Passes on information on stock items
  • Helps with inventory control and maintenance and ensure proper rotation of products to reduce spoilage
  • Has full knowledge of the menu items as well as any daily specials and promotion
  • Team player that values a good relationship not only with fellow chefs but also with our service team
  • Brings a passion to serve our customers and enjoys going the extra mile
  • Ensures food safety is maintained at all times
  • Actively shares ideas, opinions and suggestions
  • Knows and follows all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
  • Follows kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Reports directly to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
  • Other duties might be required as assigned
Job Specifications and Skills:
  • Cooking experience in a high-volume environment is desirable
  • Superior quality management, organizational skills and attention to detail is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Versatile, able to work under pressure
  • Excellent command of the English language - oral, written, reading
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit
  • Able to work in a diverse work environment
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend shifts
  • Involves standing for long periods of time, walking, sitting, bending, carrying
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
