Job Description

*Guest Services Supervisor – Edmonton Ski Club**Position Description:**Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for working cooperatively with the Snow School , Rental Shop and Operations Supervisors to provide exemplary guest service from guest arrival to departure by provision of ski club information, communication, service of food and beverage at the Edmonton Ski Club. There will be an expectation of cross-training and mutual support between the roles to ensure that all aspects of staffing needs, scheduling and guest experience are metGuest Services is often the first point of visitor contact with the Edmonton Ski Club and sets the tone for all and what they can expect on their visit and or participation in groups, lessons, events and programs.You possess relevant customer service experience supplemented by the ski and snowboard industry or hospitality/tourism industry. Experience with the ski and snowboard industry is essential. You are hands-on, identifying opportunities and solving problems. You are proactive, committed to safety and quality service. You have demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience in dealing with the public and fellow staff. You create a safe and positive work culture.Responsibilities:

  • Provides excellent guest service to internal and external guests, creates a positive, family-oriented and lively atmosphere
  • Supervises guest services staff while ensuring proper safety and protocols are followed according to industry standards
  • Ensuring guests are made aware of liability exclusions, safety expectations, requirements and relevant activity and participation documentation is obtained
  • Properly schedules and maintains the indoor facilities according to industry standards, and refers to the Guest Services Manager if further help is needed
  • Operates and maintains indoor and outdoor spaces for guest use, cleans and maintains the facility (inside and outside) on a regular basis.
  • Operates guest services and food and beverage effectively and efficiently, ensuring appropriate levels of stock and supplies
  • Ensures appropriate levels of tickets, widgets, pass cards and other sundries are maintained, inventoried and ordered.
  • Supervises the check in of guests for lessons, activities and reservations
  • Communicate, coordinate and problem solve with Guest services and Rentals to ensure programs and events run on time
  • Communicate, educate and de-escalate any issues that arise with guests. Field questions and assist with guest reservations, registrations and cancellations
  • Ensures all emails and telephone calls are answered in a timely and professional manner, working to ensure resolution and guest satisfaction
  • Be familiar with and knowledgeable of all aspects of the Edmonton Ski club programs, events, terrain and departments to appropriately field guest questions.
  • Operates the facility according to Board-approved operational requirements, Board-approved policies and procedures and all applicable regulatory standards
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve the sustainability of the organization
  • Acts as a community ambassador for the Edmonton Ski Club
  • Assists in other areas as required
**Qualifications:
  • Education and/or experience in snow school programs, guest services and with the Ski and Snowboard Industry
  • Minimum Level 1 ski or snowboard certification.
  • Enthusiastic about skiing and/or snowboarding
  • Outgoing and friendly attitude
  • Strong ability to lead, influence, develop, motivate and empower staff
  • Provide candid, constructive and encouraging feedback as needed
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to problem solve using logic and reasoning to evaluate and pivot making timely effective decisions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in adverse weather conditions, and work a schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Current Pro-serve
  • Recent Criminal background and vulnerable sector check.
**Compensation/Work Schedule:
  • This is a full-time seasonal position
  • Wage $20 per hour/ 40 hrs a week
