Job Description

Solace Safety Solutions is an advanced safety consulting firm servicing Western Canada. Our mission is to provide our clients with highly valuable, well-rounded safety services.Position:

  • Intermediate Health and Safety Advisor
Location:
  • Syncrude Mildred Lake/Syncrude Aurora, Fort McMurray, Local Preferred but camp available.
Qualifications:
  • NCSO Designation
  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred)
  • A&D Testing Required
Certificates Required:
  • Energy Safety Canada CSO or BSO
  • Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
Experience:
  • 3-5 years practicing in the health and safety discipline in oil and gas, Syncrude experience preferred
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver clear messaging and maintain high standards of workplace safety and mentor workers on safe and compliant operations
  • Monitor various key performance indicators and advise on areas of opportunity
  • Be visible in the field and be a reliable health and safety subject matter expert
  • Advise people from various disciplines during normal and high stress situations
  • Facilitate various meetings at times in excess of 50 people
  • Creation and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Implement and monitor adherence to programs, standards, procedures, and processes that promote the health and safety of workers
  • Participate in or lead incident investigations
  • Develop and deliver training
Remuneration:
  • Hourly and salary options dependent on experience.
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $30.00-$40.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
Supplemental pay types:
  • Overtime pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
