Positions will be temporary providing support for shutdowns in the area.What we offer:

  • Local turnaround opportunities at any of our Alberta operating regions: Edmonton, Bonnyville, Red Deer, Conklin, Fort McMurray etc.
  • Candidates must be local to the area, camp or living out allowance may be provided depending on the location of the project
  • Shift will vary: typically 6x1 or 12x2 shifts, or straight through the project at 10-12 hours per day, days and nights
  • Individual projects can vary from 2-8 weeks, with the opportunity to support multiple projects back to back
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide risk management support to our internal customers
  • Provide leadership for implementing and maintaining HSE programs/systems throughout CEDA (Hazard ID, BBS, Site Reviews, Training etc.)
  • Liaison with internal and external clients, third parties, and HSE providing presentations to increase awareness of progress on HSE matters
  • Ensure accident and incident investigations are conducted and events are reported in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the maintenance and development of HSE documentation
  • Audit and monitor documentation as required in accordance with CEDA’s and our customers’ expectations
  • Support site, shop and project safety meetings by providing relevant information for use during the meeting and actively participating throughout
  • Identify HSE coaching opportunities throughout the organization, offer yourself as a HSE mentor and actively participate in improving CEDA’s Culture
Role Specifications:
  • 3 - 5 years field HSE Advisor experience required
  • Must have one of the below certificates (NCSO minimum)
    • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)
    • Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)
    • Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • Operational field experience in upstream or downstream oil industry is an asset
  • Working knowledge of related legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Valid Class 5 licence with a clean abstract
  • Willingness and ability to travel

  • Strong organization, prioritization, skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, in a team environment
  • You have the capacity to problem solve and thrive in high pressure situations
  • Ability to influence staff at various levels to promote loss prevention
