Job Description

NIRIX is looking for several high performance professional badminton coaches for our new corporate team and athletic program.Summary of What You Will be DoingTo assist the Director of Badminton Program in the execution of key performance mandates and the overall mission of our new corporate badminton program. This will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Plan, execute, and assess various competitive and high performance training and lesson plans
  • Actively coach private, group, and multi-days badminton camps, as required of various competitive skills level
  • Must be able to seamlessly coach athletes by performing technical skill training, multi-shuttle drills, game training, fitness training, and strength training
  • Perform game and video analysis with athletes
  • Be an active member of our coaching team at all regional, provincial, and national tournaments our company participates in
  • Perform all administrative duties as required for this position such as reports, billing, scheduling, coordination, planning, organizing of events, and others
  • Attend Badminton program meetings
  • Participate in sponsored social events, as required
  • Ensure badminton training facilities and courts are maintained to ensure safety and tidiness every day
  • This position is NOT a standard Monday to Friday 8am-5pm work schedule. Working schedule will include weekdays and weekend and will be flexible
  • Camps and group lessons will generally be on fixed schedule basis while private and semi private lesson will vary from athlete to athlete.
  • Be readily accessible via email, phone, SMS, messaging to the rest of our coaching staff
  • Be part of the coaching team that will evaluate athletes for special teams consideration based on individual performance tournament results.
What You Need to Qualify for This Position
  • 4-6 years of coaching experience in the sport of badminton at a high performance or competitive level
  • 3-5 years provincial, national and/or international competition experience in badminton
  • Currently hold an active NCCP Certified Competition Introduction or higher
  • 4-6 years of experience developing lesson and training plans for athletes who are at the junior competitive to high performance level
  • Physically must be able to play full court single / double games with competitive athletes in 3-4 hour duration at a time
  • Prefer candidates have an area of specialization either in single, doubles, or mixed doubles
  • Have worked and coached extensively athletes of age 12-19 years old
  • Good communication skills (English and Chinese Mandarin)
  • Must have great patience in working with athletes
  • Must have excellent game and technical analysis skills
  • Current CPR/First Aid Training
  • A clean Vulnerable Sector Clearance report
  • Good in working with technology and instant messaging apps
  • Excellent attitude, passionate, and enthusiastic about the sport as an athlete and as a coach
  • Good planning and organization skills

  • You will be accountable for the safety of the athletes that are under your coaching guidance during lessons and camps
