Job Description

Human Resource Coordinator (Learning)- Human Resource Services Division (This is a temporary, 12 month position)Job Number : 41090Make your favorite place your workplace!Edmonton Public Library is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and detail-oriented team player to join the Human Resource Services team as an HR Coordinator (Learning). We believe in having fun and working hard!In this role, you will work directly with the Manager, Learning & Development to support internal learning and development needs for EPL staff. Duties include:Acting as the internal expert/superuser for EPL’s learning management system (LMS) including creating and updating courses, running reports, and troubleshooting system and user issues.Coordinating internal EPL courses including opening and closing courses, liaising with instructors and trainers, and taking attendance.Completing administrative activities such as booking rooms, ordering catering, and processing invoices.Providing support to the Manager, Learning & Development with various learning-related projects and initiatives such as new course creation, special events, and migration to a new LMS.Developing and sending L&D-related communications to all levels of the organization (e.g. communications to learners, managers, and the organization overall).Providing assistance and support to the broader HR team including responding to staff inquiries, HR administrative support for employee and labour relation files, and vacation coverage as required.You will provide professional and seamless delivery of EPL courses through the administration of learning & development activities, use and maintenance of the learning management system (LMS), and customer focused communication with managers and staff.This role provides exceptional customer service in a manner that focuses on accuracy, timeliness, and quality. As the ideal candidate you will bring:Strong interpersonal skills combined with effective verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical and technical skills including the ability to work effectively with learning software administration, authoring tools, and spreadsheets (Excel).An action-oriented approach combined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Qualifications :A diploma or degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.A minimum of 2 years of directly related experience.Experience with adult learning or workplace learning is an assetExperience working with a learning management system (LMS) and other ERP-related products like PeopleSoft or SuccessFactors is preferred.Experience working and/or training within a library or not-for-profit environment is an asset.Note: Suitable candidates with less than 2 years of related experience may be considered on a developmental basis.Who we are:The secret ingredient for making EPL a magical place is no secret at all; in fact, it's very simple: We share.
