INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – THERAPEUTIC RECREATIONFACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIESNorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to making a difference to join our Faculty of Health Studies team as permanent full-time instructional assistant in our Therapeutic Recreation program.If you are someone who is looking to join a dynamic team of individuals who practice a we>they approach to delivering quality education, then the TR Instructional Assistant position is for you. Reporting to the Program Chair, the TR Instructional Assistant will work alongside like-minded individuals dedicated to helping our learners acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies required for future practice in Therapeutic Recreation. This position requires someone who is dependable, possesses excellent communication skills, likes to work with people, and has a desire to play at work & work at play.The TR team members take pride in making a positive impact on the lives of the students they teach. Join our team and help the students achieve their goals. This is a full-time position that requires the successful candidate to work on campus in downtown Edmonton.HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • facilitate student learning in a variety of methods including; lecture, laboratory, and practicum learning.
  • Assess, monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback to the students in order to facilitate the successful completion of their diploma program.
  • Support and collaborate with the TR team of instructors to ensure effective course delivery for the students.
  • Demonstrates effective human relations skills and professional conduct.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the program and college.
  • Participates in professional development
  • Contributes to the achievement of divisional and program unit goals.
  • Support in the preparation and delivery of instructional material for both theory and lab courses, online and in-person.
  • Supervise students in both lab and practicum settings.
  • Coordination and maintenance of the TR lab.
  • Manage student progress and provide resources to enhance student learning.
  • Maintaining appropriate student records and reports.
  • Liaise with other instructional team members.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation.
  • Registration with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) – Supporting or Professional Membership.
  • 2+ years of experience in the RTA role.
  • Previous instructional experience in a post–secondary environment (or coursework in adult education) is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, and/or developing curriculum.
  • Computer skills and online teaching experience preferred.
  • A Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last thirty days.
  • Up-to-date immunization records including COVID-19 vaccinations

SALARY: $52,573 - $68,302 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience.
