Job Description

In order to ensure your application is received by NAIT for thorough review and consideration, please apply directly through our Careers site at www.nait.ca/careersPlease Note: These are casual appointments commencing January 2023.The School of Applied Sciences and Technology invites applications for Casual Instructors in the Computer Network Administrator (CNA) Certificate program. As an active member of the CNA team, the Instructor is responsible for assisting in the effective operation and development of the program including holistic student engagement.Areas of focus for potential candidates would be enhancing student skills specifically in:

  • On premise virtualization using Hyper V, System Center Virtual Machine Manager, ESXi and vCenter Server.
  • Administering and managing multi-site directory services in Windows Server.
  • Experience with Exchange 2016/2019, SharePoint 2016/2019, System Center Configuration Manager and Windows Server Update Services.
  • Imaging software to deploy/upgrade/migrate computers.
  • Troubleshooting methodologies and help desk ticketing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct classroom/lab instruction while utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment.
  • Assist in designing, developing, selecting and revising course curriculum and materials on a continuous basis, using the Institute prescribed process
  • Evaluate the learning process: Ensure learning is evaluated in a reliable and timely manner, providing appropriate and timely feedback to students; Submit marks/records promptly.
  • Provide coaching or referral for students who are experiencing difficulties in order to maximize retention and student success.
  • Use the institute-approved process to regularly solicit feedback on instruction from students and use the results to improve instructional delivery.
  • In accordance with a designated framework, utilize appropriate educational technology for communications, presentations, and program promotion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A degree (preferred) or diploma in computer or network administration or related discipline would be an asset.
  • Related industry experience is required.
  • Previous curriculum development or delivery would be an asset.
