Job Description

This is a turnaround-based position for our project at our client site, NWR. This position will run from July until October. Working a Monday to Friday shift for pre-turnaround and a 6 and 1 shift during turnaround. NWR is located in Redwater, AB and is a commutable distance from the greater Edmonton area.Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation is above industry average and increases with experience

Responsibilities
  • Test troubleshoot and repair transmitters, switches, control valves.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safe work practices.
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
Working Conditions
  • Start date is June
  • Shift schedule – Pre-turnaround Monday to Friday and turnaround 6&1
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required
Qualifications
  • Certified Journeyman Instrumentation Technician
  • Industrial plant experience required
  • H2S Alive
  • CSTS-20
  • Fall Arrest
  • Confined Space
  • Aerial Work Platform an asset
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
  • Positive attitude towards safety
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior focus on customer satisfaction
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing
Physical Requirements
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
