Job Description

Your Opportunity:The Integration Analyst manages the Integration Engine applications on a province wide basis to enable sustainable quality health care programs and services. The IT Analyst II - Regional Integration reports to the Manager, Regional Integration and is a member of an application support team. The Integration Analyst is responsible for the following outcomes: Working independently with minimal guidance to ensure reliable operations of province wide Integration Engines that affect the achievement of the Integration Engines operational, project, and service objectives. Resolving complex problems while working independently with minimal guidance by applying best practices and high level guidelines or policies. Facilitates the ability for many disparate clinical (and some non-clinical) systems to communicate electronically. Taking a new perspective on existing information technology systems to find solutions to customer business needs. Leading projects with limited size, risk, complexity, potentially including responsibility for expenditure monitoring and cost control. Note: This position can be located in either Calgary or Edmonton. At the time of the appointment, the successful candidate may discuss these location options with the hiring manager.Description:As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:Completion of bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 5-10 years of work experience in information technology. Hands-on experience in the development and operation of enterprise integration solutions experience in a healthcare environment is required. Experience with IBM IIB integration software, IBM MQ, Java programming, UNIX operating systems, UNIX shell scripting, XML, XSLT, XPath, PL/SQL, SQL and Oracle is required. Experience with ITIL processes is required. Must have excellent problem analysis, problem solving, prioritization, and organization skills. In depth analytical, technical, skills in software technology. Demonstrated exceptional problem solving skills. Strong customer service commitment. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to gain cooperation of a variety of stakeholders, including management, clinicians, physicians and coworkers. Knowledge of linkages between processes of healthcare delivery and technology. Ability to set and meet personal deadlines and adapt to changes in priority. Ability to work in a team environment; experience in coordinating teams. Experience writing technical and procedural documentation. Knowledge of established technology industry best practice relating to software applications. Self-directed, highly motivated and results driven with minimal supervision. Clear, effective written and spoken English is an essential requirement for this position.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with HL7 v2, v3, IHE, FHIR, and other integration engine software and tools an asset.
