We offer an exciting place to build your career with competitive compensation and benefit packages, company matching RRSP/DPSP program, employee home purchase program and employee discounts.Job OverviewReporting to the Sr. Operations & Facilities Manager, as the Junior Building Operator you will perform a wide variety of maintenance related duties to help ensure the cleanliness, maintenance and continuous improvement of properties interior and exterior. Regular work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm with some scheduled after-hours work required.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the building including mechanical and electrical system maintenance.
• Inspecting washrooms and mechanical rooms as scheduled within the preventative maintenance program.
• Assisting as required to complete and/or coordinate minor and major repairs to equipment within the assigned building.
• Responding to light out and washroom trouble calls as generated by the automated maintenance system.
• Ensuring tenants’ needs are accommodated with excellent customer service in accordance with corporate quality standards and procedures.
• Sharing on-call duties as part of the rotation schedule and providing standby support to on-call maintenance staff as required, attending to after-hours emergencies as may be required from time to time.
• Changing and disposing of lights and filters as required.
• Completing daily documentation of work performed.
• Assisting Building and Senior Operators as required.

Essential Requirements

• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Previous relevant experience (maintenance/repair) in commercial building operations.
• Completion of, or working towards the 5th Class Power Engineering certificate.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
• Physically able to complete basic maintenance duties including labour intensive duties: kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Comfortable with using computers, industry standard software, and learning building-specific software.

Work ConditionsYou primarily work on job sites during regular business hours Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm with some scheduled after-hours work required. You also provide after-hours on-call support in case of emergencies. This can include weekends and holidays. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards, as well as, dealing with inclement weather and dust.
