Working together, we will promote the Alberta public service values of respect, integrity, accountability, and excellence.RoleDo you want to be involved in the progressive and exciting work that is taking place within Alberta Infrastructure Then a rewarding opportunity as a Junior Planner is waiting for you in our Strategic Asset and Accommodation Planning branch.Under the direction of the Senior Accommodation Planner, Strategic Asset Planner and/or Planning Manager, the Junior Planner will be responsible to support the following outcomes:1. Support the Planning Managers, Strategic and Accommodation Planners in achieving the mandate of the ministry including long-term strategic planning aligning with the principles of asset management from a corporate perspective and with short and long-term accommodation strategies.2. Collaborate extensively with Strategic Asset and Accommodation Planners, Asset Analytics, Realty Services, Property Management and client ministries to determine and evaluate accommodation requirements, develop space solutions, and support implementation of accommodation projects that align with asset management principles while meeting client requirements.3. Provide comprehensive research, analysis and administration to support the planning teams. Conduct site visits. Prepare space inventory updates, leasing instructions, and various reports as required.4. Prepare briefings, action request responses and correspondence pertaining to strategic and accommodation planning issues. Interpret and clarify policies and processes in response to inquiries from client users. Promote collaboration with stakeholders and participate in communication plans.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: A university degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Interior Design or Architecture, or related field or equivalent (equivalencies defined below) is required. Demonstrated experience in planning or interior design is an asset.Equivalencies:A 2-year related diploma and a minimum of 2 years of related, transferrable experience.Knowledge/Experience required:

Salary($2,281.95to $2,993.39) bi-weekly. ($59,558 to $78,127 approximately per year)NotesThe hours of work for this position are 36.25 hours per week.The position is currently a mobile role, and the successful candidate will work from a drop-in coworking space or other work locations as required in Edmonton. This arrangement is subject to change. Technology to support the role will be provided.
