Position: K – 2 Sensei / InstructorLocation: Code Ninjas – SummersideWho are weCode Ninjas is the nations fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids (Ninjas) ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way — by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and cant wait to come back. Our core promise is: Kids have fun, parents see results.We also place a high value on community engagement and helping all kids to be successful no matter of their background.Who are we looking forWe are looking for an experienced K – 2 Sensei/Instructor for Engaging, Innovative and FUN kids STEM center to join our dynamic and energetic team of senseis. Our senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center who collectively work towards a common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Do you enjoy teaching and engaging with pre-reader children This part time position is rewarding and is perfect for someone who is looking for a unique way to make a positive lifelong impact to children in our community.Responsibilities include: · Engaging pre-reader students, answering questions and assisting with problem solving activities· Create a FUN, positive and safe environment in which the children can learn and grow.· Assist in developing curriculum· Leading group lessons, activities and classes· Collaborating with hands-on owner to enhance the program· Provide feedbacks after working with a child who is on a tour.· Report kids’ progress to the Centre Director on a regular basisQualifications: · Experience working with groups of K-2 students.· Experience in teaching, mentoring and/or child care.· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Education or Child Development is not required but is a plus.· A provincial teaching certificate is not required but is a plus.· Works well with others; collaborates; engaging and proactive.· We will train you, but experience in coding/STEM is a huge plus· Must be FUN to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequentlyCompensation:From $15/hr plus an opportunity to have a positive impact on many kids’ livesHours & LocationClasses are run on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
