Job DescriptionThe CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.Our department specializing in mechanical building systems design including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial and institutional facilities is looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer / Lead Technologistto join our growing team in Edmonton, AB. We are seeking a results driven individual to work with our Engineers and Project Managers to provide first class designs and project support. In this role, you will provide drafting and design support in the delivery of a variety of exciting, progressive, and other significant and critical projects across the recreation, healthcare, institutional, education, industrial/manufacturing, and commercial sectors. CIMA+ offers a hybrid work policy. This arrangement will require the ability to commute to both the Edmonton office and to various work sites as required but offers the flexibility of some teleworking privilege based on performance, experience, business, and mentoring needs. Primary Responsibilities

  • Building systems design and support including preparation of mechanical contract drawings, schematics and schedules focused on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protections systems.
  • Perform design and engineering tasks including system and equipment sizing and selection to support Project Managers and Engineers as part of the mechanical design team.
  • Conduct site reviews and surveys and generate engineering reports.
  • Be responsible for monitoring quality and cost control during project design.
  • Develop relationships with industry colleaguesamp; clients.
  • Co-ordinate with other disciplines to deliver the upmost accurate contract documents.
  • Prepare and review specifications.
