TheFellowship envisions addressing existing gaps by providing training, coaching, and connecting Blackprospect leaders to Agencies, Boards and Committees (ABCs). The Leadership Development Fellowshipwill bridge the structural gaps while diversifying existing ABCs, and the nongovernmental ecosystem. Inpartnership with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), the Fellowship will take a cohortof prospective young Black Community Leaders annually and provide modular capacity-building trainingon leadership. The Fellowship will work with the City of Edmonton civic engagement department andnon-profit agencies to ensure appropriate ABCs internship placements.This position will be responsible for coordinating the development, administration and evaluation of theLeadership Development Fellowship program.Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipant and employer support

  • Actively participate in the recruitment of participants to the Fellowship program
  • Actively engage with and build relationships with employers in the private, public and non-profit
sectors with the intent of securing placement opportunities
  • Share information with potential participants interested in the program to ensure their
understanding of the program requirements and their eligibility
  • Provide support for prospective participants as they prepare their placement applications and
interviews.
  • Monitor participants’ progress regarding completion of their placement and provide ongoing
supportProgram support
  • Implement program activities in accordance with the work plans and program timelines.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the program and implements programmatic and
administrative services to attain program goals and objectives.
  • Process and monitor program expenditures to ensure that costs are within budget and working
closely with the Finance and Operations manager to investigate and correct variances
  • Assist in creating, reviewing and revising course materials
  • Organize course delivery, including, if necessary, ordering course materials, texts & supplies and
ensuring delivery of physical materials
  • Initiating and maintaining instructor contracts including invoicing for vendors
  • Providing support to instructors by coordinating student survey process
  • Develop internal and external communications to publish program offerings and timelines
  • Lead and coordinate program events
  • Manage and maintain the program records management system
  • Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to provide program specific information to
internal and external stakeholders
  • Closely work with the program evaluation team to prepare quarterly activity and financial
reports and a final report that indicates program activities, outcomes and impact
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Experience in experiential learning (particularly work-integrated learning), career education
and/or graduate recruitment would be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships, to work collegially with various internal
and external stakeholders
  • Experience with, and ability to learn and effectively utilize administrative systems and technical
applications (e.g., project management software, databases)Education, Experience and Skills
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in Business Administration
  • Project Management qualification (e.g., CAPM or a Certificate/Diploma in Project Management)
is desirable
  • Minimum of two years progressive work experience, preferably in a post-secondary institution
  • Experience with program/project coordination and event management
  • Strong program planning, implementation, problem-solving, and evaluation skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks
and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Computer literacy, including extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to accurately complete tasks requiring a high level of detail
  • Excellent attention to detail is required along with exceptional organizational and customer
service skillsRequirements
  • 40 hours/week which may involve some weekday evening and /or weekend hours
  • Valid driver’s license, and access to a private vehicle
