The primary purpose of the LIS Support Analyst is to provide LIS expertise and support in the daily operations of DynaLIFEDx.Major Functions and Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, assist with implementation and validation of LIS instrument interfaces in conjunction with IT and Clinical Operation departments.
• Coordinate, plan and communicate to users, LIS system upgrades and customization in conjunction with AHS LIS team.
• Perform and / or oversee LIS database maintenance.
• Work collaboratively with the IT department regarding day to day operations of LIS.
• Liaise and build relationships with AHS regarding any LIS initiatives affecting the Beaker system
• Address key stakeholder concerns in a timely manner.
• Ensure all organizational, patient privacy and accreditation policies, guidelines, processes and procedures relating to LIS are followed.
• Develop LIS reporting requirements.
• Monitor LIS service requests internally and to AHS.
• Conduct LIS audits.
• Develop, review, and revise LIS policies, processes and procedures.
• Communicates effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Obtains the LIS Beaker Proficiency Certification in AP and CP to support and deveop knowledge of the LIS system
• Obtains Data Innovations Middleware knowledge
• Provides “training and support” to staff who have access to the Viewics Reporting Tool

Required Skills

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrates strong customer service, problem solving, critical thinking, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Required Experience

• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a medical laboratory is an asset
• 2 - 3 year’s experience working with laboratory information systems is an asset
• Working knowledge of Health Information Act and Privacy regulations is an asset
• Working knowledge of CAP and CPSA guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist is an asset.
