Job Description

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for almost 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED FRONT-END LOADER OPERATORto join our CIVIL UNDERGROUND DIVISION. This position is a full-time seasonal role and offers a competitive wage with benefits.The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong working knowledge of loaders and the ability to safely operate
  • Understand and utilize various shoring methods and safe excavation practices (e.g., shields, boxes, various types of shoringamp; slide rails)
  • Ensure all pre-equipment checks and preventative maintenance is being performed
  • Constant awareness of traffic on the jobsite
  • Ability to operate the loader in live traffic as needed
  • Strong understanding of the various materials required on the job site, such as; pipe, precast structures, and aggregates
  • Ability to maintain an organized job site/laydown yard
  • Planning haul routes
  • Ensuring loads are secure when hauling
  • Able to evaluate and adjust work plan based on current ground conditions
  • Perform labour activities required to complete the job (e.g. shovelling, setting up chains for rigging,amp; operating compaction gear
Requirements
  • Previous experience operating a loader
  • Able to understand grades and general survey
  • Able to read and understanding drawings
  • Valid Class 5 Driver #39;s license
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Able to work Monday - Friday and when necessary overtimeamp; weekends
  • Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset
  • Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset
