Job Description

Inovata Foods Corp. is currently looking for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to work at our Edmonton, Alberta location. Located in Edmonton, Alberta with a partnered facility in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Inovata Foods is a major producer of high-quality frozen meals for prominent clients throughout North America. The Logistics Supervisor ensures the health and safety of the warehouse staff, that all procedures are followed, that the warehouse team are held accountable to Inovata Foods values and proper functioning of the warehouse.Our "RECIPE" is they key to our success; Respect, Engagement, Courage, Integrity, Passion & Excellence.We create wholesome and convenient meals that bring family and friends together since 1989.The successful candidate will will work 5 days per week with a start time of 9/10AM for 8 1/2 hours. Weekend availability for Saturdays will be required as well.Abilities & Functions

  • Communication - clearly defining the needs of Inovata Foods to our team members and constant communication with direct reports.
  • Understanding the cost of materials to reduce waste and storage.
  • Mentoring team members and able to make decisions quick while keeping team members safe at all times.
  • Able to teach and mentor team members on proper use and care of power equipment.
  • Understanding the Customs regulations of transporting food and work with CFIA on certifying loads
  • Update and keep information current to key holders on the status of materials for production runs.
  • Stays focused and calm in the face of competing priorities
  • Providing focus during changing schedules and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Manage 3 shift team members, keeping a pay it forward culture.
  • Adapting to ever changing production output, schedule to keep the warehouse operable, space management.
Major objectives and key deliverables.Within the first 30 days and ongoing
  • Learns the methods and operation of the Edmonton facility raw goods and finished goods movements in and out of the plant.
  • Able to organize and provide paperwork for finished goods going to leading Canadian and US Retailers and 3rd party warehouse.
  • Work with the leadership team in Edmonton and establish partnerships.
  • Learns the procedures of the department.
  • Learn the consumption process.
  • Relieve Assistant Manager and other team members of work load when needed.
Within 3 Months and Ongoing
  • Establish history charts for each employee
  • Provide tasks lists for off-shift personnel
  • Develop one-on-ones with direct reports
  • Work with the Inventory Coordinator to help implement a cycle count program.
Within 6 Months and Ongoing
  • Be able to cover for vacations and absences
  • Largely independent in the role
  • Establish lead hand succession planning
Within 9-12 Months and Ongoing
  • Maintain support for Warehouse teams
  • Develop and Maintain Personnel plan for Direct Reports
  • Develop baseline for metrics and future goals for the Warehouse department.
Qualifications
  • Post Secondary School Diploma in a related field – Required
  • Strong computer acumen - Microsoft Office and ERP - Required
  • Min 3 years experience in Warehouse/Logistics - Required
  • Experience in the Food Industry/Reefer Transport - Preferred
  • Supervisory Experience – Preferred
  • Excellent Team Player with flexible approach to providing an atmosphere that encourages the greater team to win.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Great Communicator - All forms of communication in play, whether it be our ERP system, e-mail, in person or on the phone, must always be clear and concise.
