About Boyle McCauley Health CentreBoyle McCauley Health Centre (BMHC) provides interdisciplinary, person-centred primary health care for vulnerable Edmontonians with complex needs. Through primary care and health promotion, BMHC improves the quality of life and well-being of individuals who face multiple barriers to accessing health services.BMHC Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are a vital component of the BMHC team. Clinical teams of nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, medical office assistants, outreach workers, health advocates, mental health therapists, and other professionals offer comprehensive, wrap-around care to Edmonton’s most marginalized population. LPNs are required to work to full scope of practice within a primary healthcare setting. LPNs at BMHC are leaders and work with a high degree of independence as well as collaboratively to ensure all social, psychological, and medical needs are met for clients.Job DescriptionPosition: Outreach LPN Mobile Health UnitTemporary until Aug 2023, with the potential to extendHours: 7.5-hour shiftsVarying between hours of 0800-2000.Monday-FridaySchedule TBD. *Must be able to work 1-2 evenings/week.This role requires the LPN to work as part of the outreach team in a Sprinter van which has been outfitted as a mobile health unit. The mobile health unit will deliver outreach health services to various community agencies serving vulnerable individuals. It is a unique role that requires individuals who are adaptable and comfortable performing duties that do not always fall within typical clinical nursing duties, such as van maintenance. This role requires the LPN to work both collaboratively with external community agencies and with a great degree of autonomy to deliver health services in an outreach capacity.Key Responsibilities
