This is your opportunity to trade in the noise, congestion and traffic for clean air, open spaces and untouched wilderness while growing your career.Relocation assistance is available for the selected candidate should they reside outside of Whitehorse.Overhead Door TechnicianReporting to the Installation Supervisor, the Overhead Door Technician is responsible for the installation of overhead doors and related hardware at commercial and residential sites, while ensuring that the installation meets company standards. The position operates a variety of specialized tools and equipment, and maintains a safe, clean and respectful work environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and maintain overhead doors and door operators per manufacturer specifications and standards.
  • Perform installation, repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Welding and installation of electrical control wiring
  • Completing job site checklists.
  • Monitoring and reporting on job progress on a daily basis.
  • Notifying the supervisor when supplies are low to ensure adequate amounts are ordered and available in the shop.
  • Assisting in resolving customer concerns and complaints arising from quality control as it relates to the installation of products.
  • Maintaining professional behavior in all dealings with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Following Health & Safety procedures and protocols at all times.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial & residential overhead door installation and maintenance.
  • ·Ability to operate and work at heights on scissor lifts and ladders, while always following health and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity and competence with a variety of hand- and power-tools.
  • Competency in welding and with low voltage electrical wiring.
  • Ability to lift materials weighing 50 lbs and up.
  • Detail orientation, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and an individual drive to succeed while always being a strong team player.
  • Customer service oriented, with the ability to always represent Northerm in a positive manner, maintaining a professional tone and approach to both verbal and written communications.
  • Integrity and accountability.
  • Willingness to learn and maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge.
  • Completion of a high school diploma, with additional courses or training related to welding, electrical or other construction-related skills an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract.
