This position supports our programs in Central Region located in Camrose, AB or Wetaskiwin, AB.You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. The Meaningful Work Youll Do:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair for Catholic Social Services. This position completes general carpentry and electrical repair and maintenance work as required. The Maintenance Technician also performs basic repairs and maintenance on the mechanical operating systems found within our Agency.Primary job duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform maintenance tasks of a complex nature in areas of carpentry, plumbing, heating, etc. as assigned
• Coordinate entire process from assessing the work to be done, determining what materials are need, ordering the necessary material, picking up or arranging for delivery of materials, completing the job and cleanup of work site.
• Complete requested information reports, job completion reports, billing information and other required documentation in a timely manner
• Operate Agency vehicle(s) in a safe and courteous manner, including regular service and repair of the vehicle(s)
• Represent the Agency in a professional and courteous manner
• Provide service and information in a courteous manner
• Establish positive working relationships with external suppliers and vendors

Education and Experience:

• Completed Grade twelve (12) or equivalent
• Three (3) years experience in general maintenance work preferred
• Basic knowledge, skill and work experience in:
  • Carpentry
  • Electrical work
  • Plumbing
  • Simple cement work
• Physical ability to lift up to 75lb
• Valid Alberta Class five (5) vehicle operating license
• Drivers Abstract showing six (6) or less demerits
• Travel to the site, and off-site locations will be required

Skills and Abilities:

• Highly motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Ability to maintain organization of maintenance schedule and files in a changing environment
• Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
• Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
• Ability to perform small repairs (e.g. caulking, replacing washers, and replacing light fixtures)
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
