Job Description

10% TREASURY - Banking Services: Supervises and coordinates banking activities including reviewing and authorizing banking transactions. Reviews reconciliation of all Covenant Health bank accounts ensuring accuracy and that reconciling items are dealt with timely. Ensures the organization’s banking requirements are met on a timely and consistent manner and that signing authorities for banking transactions are kept current with proper approvals. 20% TREASURY – Cash Management: Reviews short and long-term cash flow projections. Prepare briefing notes for senior management and the audit and finance committee with cash flow projections and recommendations. Provides liaison with the organization’s outsourced chief investment officer. 35% CAPITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT: Ensures capital asset transactions and reporting are accurate, complete, timely and in compliance with guidelines through guidance and review of Accountant, Capital Assets work. Reviews capital equipment and capital project budgets against actual performance monthly, follows up with operations and capital planning for explanations as to over/under budget. Reports on areas which are over/under budget monthly to the CFO and Senior Director through attendance of monthly meetings. Reviews billings to AHS/Foundations for capital equipment and projects funded by AHS. Reviews reconciliation of receipts from AHS and transactions processed through AGIS to ensure funding is received and disputed items are resolved in a timely matter. 15% FINANCIAL REPORTING: Reviews financial reports and acts as key liaison with external auditors. Guides and reviews information to complete monthly Statement of Cash Flows for internal and external reporting implementing processes necessary to streamline and automate this information. 10% SPECIAL PROJECTS: 10% HUMAN RESOURCES:

Required Qualifications:Post secondary Accounting degree with a major in Commerce/Business required. Accounting Designation; CPA/CA/CMA/CGA required.Additional Required Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of computer software applications including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Oracle and Oracle Fixed Assets desired. Team-oriented approach to work and the ability to respond and communicate with all levels of internal staff and external personnel required. Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize required. Ability to work independently and to meet tight regular deadlines required. Ability to handle inquiries, correspondence and assignments with the highest level of professionalism and strict confidentiality of all sensitive information required. Ability to compose adhoc reports; summarized and/or detailed from numerous types of internal and external inquiries for review essential. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for not-for-profit organizations required. Must have demonstrated confidence and ability to communicate and work effectively at management level with internal and external parties. Supervisory and team building skills for staff and the ability to effectively manage external resources. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 5-6 years experience in an accounting setting. Experience in preparing cash forecasts and cash flow analyses. Experience in not-for-profit capital accounting desired. Experience in health care sector desired.Quick Apply
