Job Description

About the RoleAre you a hard-working, organized team player with experience in warehousing, sales, and customer service Do you enjoy staying busy, managing inventory, and making a difference for Albertans If so, we #39;re looking for you!Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this role involves both administrative and operational responsibilities, including:

  • Shippingamp; receiving
  • Inventory and space management
  • Surplus asset appraisal and disposal
  • Customer service for onsite and online sales
  • Ensuring secure data destruction from electronic devices
Key Responsibilities1. Sales Preparationamp; Customer Service
  • Photograph and list items for online auction (OSSIPA).
  • Write product descriptions and pricing for cash-and-carry sales.
  • Tag, assemble, display, and prepare items for viewing and shipment.
  • Assist customers with product previews and post-sale logistics.
  • Maximize sales returns using basic marketing strategies.
2. Warehouse Operationsamp; Asset Intake
  • Receive, verify, and allocate surplus assets.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Manage warehouse space efficiently.
  • Identify and report discrepancies to Declaring Officers.
  • Pick up/deliver materials as needed using fleet vehicles.
3. Asset Appraisalamp; Redistribution
  • Assess assets for resale, disposal, or government reuse.
  • Redeploy usable items to departments to reduce procurement costs.
  • Allocate equipment to the Computers for Schools Program.
  • Ensure secure destruction of data from storage devices.
  • Research specialty items to optimize asset use or sale.
4. Recyclingamp; Waste Management
  • Sort and allocate recyclable materials.
  • Dispose of non-saleable items responsibly and economically.
  • Return hazardous waste to originating departments.
  • Ensure environmentally sound disposal of electronics.
5. Warehouse Maintenanceamp; Safety
  • Maintain safe work practices and a clean environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure facility and inventory security.
6. Cashamp; Carry Sales Program
  • Assist customers and process transactions.
  • Handle cash, debit, and credit payments.
  • Generate receipts and issue accurate change.
  • Support loading of purchased goods.
Required Qualifications Category Requirement Experience Minimum 3 years in each of the following: - Customer service and/or retail sales - Forklift operation - Material handling equipment operation - Shipping, receiving, and inventory control - Using computerized inventory management systems Certification - Forklift certification (mandatory) Technical Skills - Microsoft Office 365 Nice to Have (Assets) Category Preferred Qualifications Certifications - First Aid/AED - WHMIS - OHS Certificate - TDG Certificate Work Experience - Online sales (eBay, Kijiji, Marketplace, etc.) - Asset research and appraisal - Retail or sales merchandising Training - Lean/Six Sigma efficiency experience Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Onsite) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM (excluding statutory holidays) Contract Duration: Initial 1-year term with possible extension (up to 6 months)
