Job Description

Working with the Director, Facilities Maintenance and Asset Management, the Manager, Asset Management leads and champions YEG’s Asset Management through program development, Enterprise System Software Management, operational performance measurement and continuous improvement to ensure optimal use and functionality of airport infrastructure from construction to demolition. This role ensures best practices are applied to all assets and supports both the technical and service level performance of all YEG facilities assets.Nature of Work & Contribution:

  • Lead the development and implementation of asset management plans to support optimal and sustainable management of infrastructure assets.
  • Ensure application of the best methodologies in asset management and lifecycle performance of YEG Facilities and Infrastructure aligned with ISO 55000 guidelines.
  • Support and participate in an asset management governance model that includes participants from all levels of the Airports stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and maintain capital programs for medium and long term asset lifecycle replacements.
  • Develop the annual asset lifecycle replacement program for approval and execution.
  • Lead asset condition assessment activities through internal and external consulting resources.
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of all Functional System/Assets and related Maximo Work Programs to deliver the best maintenance practices throughout asset life cycle.
  • Develop and implement Enterprise Asset Management Technology plans in partnership with Information Technology and corporate partners to lead system lifecycle, drive continuous improvement and achieve asset management objectives.
  • Work with partners to identify systems and infrastructure needs and assist business units with the longer-term anticipation and planning of needs generated from changing business environment and technology advancements.
  • Lead a well-managed unit within a defined budget and ensure alignment with the overall strategic plan of the business.
  • Clearly define expectations and success paths in order to promote a team environment that focuses on high performance, continuous improvement, and inclusivity.
  • Management style that instigates a positive, healthy and safe work environment in alignment with all appropriate legislation and regulations.
Special RequirementsQualifications & Experience:
  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Airport Management, Facilities/Asset Management Systems, Manufacturing, Business Analysis, Technical Trade.
  • Certification in a recognized Asset Management Program is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in developing, executing and managing Asset Management programs.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in People Management (direct report or cross-functional).
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and results driven.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in manipulating and interpreting data, predicting trends, establishing priorities, solving problems and performing sound business analysis/reporting.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and lead continuous improvement discussions.
  • Proficient with Maximo, and or other CMMS and reporting systems and methodology.
  • Understanding of the Asset Management Planning Process (AMP).
  • Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Ability to influence decisions based on relevant business issues and supporting data.
  • Advanced analytical skills with an understanding of business analysis, planning and reporting.
  • Ability to influence differing opinions and present highly complex issues in a straightforward manner.
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to present information in a concise, clear, and articulate manner.
  • Ability to develop and establish relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to be flexible, adapt quickly to change and realign business priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Power Point, Word, Access, and Excel).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to process design with strong business insights and maintain a customer centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Measures of Success:
  • Demonstrating Universal employee accountabilities
  • Develop and gain traction on asset management plans resulting in high criticality assets being reviewed and approved for future action.
  • Progress towards proficiency in conducting criticality and condition assessments, taking ownership of the process and results.
  • Extract data from condition and criticality assessments to create asset renewal and replacement plans for the next 5 years.
  • Gaining credibility within the organization through advancing and proving the value of the asset management system.
