Click Here: The Gibson WaySummaryReporting to the Senior Operations Supervisor, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Gibson Energy standards, programs, processes are adhered to, and safely execute the day to day operation of the Edmonton Terminal. This position supports the Operations team for facility LOTO’s, primary contact for preparing equipment for maintenance. Operations commissioning representative for new projects. Assists with Operations training and CMDS.What Youll Be Doing
  • Ensures personal safety and the safety of all personnel in the facility.
  • Reviews, accesses, and assists operations with their performance development goals.
  • Identifies and reports all terminal issues to the Operations Supervisors.
  • Represents Gibson Energy in a professional manner to all internal and external customers.
  • Assists with the development of procedures, JHA’s and signoffs.
  • Assists with LOTO permitting, drain downs and flood ups, CMDS signoff, Commissioning, and training.
  • Assists with projects on coordination and execution.
  • Ensures terminal housekeeping is maintained, areas cleaned, and snow clearing/sanding maintained.
  • Provides training to new and existing employees as needed for terminal operations.
  • Ensures all equipment issues & terminal issues are entered into Maximo and or communicated to all appropriate personnel.
  • Expectations include responsibility in the areas of EH&S, compliance, operating costs, revenue, and employee development.
  • Help with daily permits, schedule construction and maintenance work so that terminal operations are minimally impacted.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of routine work planning, scheduling including turnarounds as required for the regulatory compliance and asset integrity
  • Acts as the primary contact for operations/maintenance coordination of maintenance activity, ensures safe execution of preparing equipment for maintenance following the safe work permit process and hazardous energy isolation standards
  • Actively adheres to and participates in the MOC process.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 4-7 years experience in an oil and gas terminal operation.
  • Understanding of pipeline hydraulics, line balance, and batch tracking.
  • Valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
  • Current safety certificates e.g. WHIMIS/TDG, H2S, First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Ground Disturbance.
    • Fully knowledgeable with all terminal operating systems and procedures, Honeywell, Spirit Toptech, Geometrix and all associated paperwork.
  • Proficient in the use of PC’s and software including Microsoft office applications including Excel and Word
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to handle people issues and work-related problems.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, train and direct individuals as required.
  • Self-directed and motivated for positive results, able to work well under pressure.
  • Willing to work in and contribute to a team environment.
  • Handles all customer concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Self motivated, team player, able to work well under pressure
  • Initiative, sets and accomplishes goals with personal drive and motivation and has the courage to constructively challenge the status quo
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communications skills that are coupled with excellent listening skills resulting in clear and complete transfer of information while demonstrating integrity by skillfully managing emotions and behaviors to gain trust, credibility, and respect.
Working Conditions
  • Field based position with minimal travel to other operating sites or Calgary head office.
  • Most of the work is performed in a field environment.
  • Work involves hands-on support of active operations and maintenance in an outdoor environment.
  • Must be available to support outside normal work hours and on-call emergency response.
