Trach Law is an incredibly busy and growing Criminal and Family law firm based primarily in Edmonton, Alberta. We have a branch office in Slave Lake, which services the Northern judicial circuit points including (but not limited to) Peace River, High Prairie, Red Earth Creek, and Wabasca/Desmarais. We are seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant who will be a positive asset to our quickly growing firm, and who is available to start working immediately. Preferably, the successful candidate will have an interest in family law and criminal defence work.This is a unique position, which does not require any formal training (although it may be considered a bonus). You will be trained in all administrative duties of the office, which will provide an opportunity to learn these areas of law from the ground-up. No prior legal or office experience is required but will be considered an asset.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:· Preparing, filing, and serving legal documents;· Communicating with courthouses, crown’s offices, and other law firms;· Managing and organizing a large number of files;· Preparing trial binders, and helping with trial preparation;· Upkeep of the firm calendars and general client management.A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:· A positive, can-do attitude;· The ability to work very well under pressure and according to deadlines;· An interest in both Criminal and Family Law;· Comfortable working independently, but also as part of a tight-knit team (our motto is “Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork!â€);· Proficient in the use of Apple products (we are a Mac office);· Comfortable talking on the phone with strong communication skills;· Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.If you have reference letters that you would like to submit, we will review them, but they are not required.Trach Law is currently located on the West End, but is not very easily accessible by public transport.
