Are you an experienced payroll professional ready to take on a dynamic role Forbes Bros Ltd. is hiring a Payroll Analyst to join our team managing payroll processing for union and non-union employees across Canada and the United States.As a Payroll Analyst, you #39;ll handle weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, process remittances for deductions, and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and state legislation. Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit payroll procedures, records, and data for compliance; recommend and document solutions for non-compliance.
  • Process and manage payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple Canadian and US jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and submit paperwork for taxable benefits, deductions, garnishments, union payments, and other payroll-related documents.
  • Analyze compensation data and provide reports as required.
  • Maintain and audit databases for accuracy and data integrity.
  • Manage payment and deduction calendars; ensure accurate quarter and year-end tax reconciliations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide support for employee and operational escalations.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory updates, providing reports to management.
  • Support audits and compliance for payroll taxes, benefits, union agreements, and workers #39; compensation.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop efficient processes, internal controls, and quality measures.
  • Test payroll system upgrades and integrations with related systems.
  • Communicate proactively with the Director and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
What We #39;re Looking For:
  • Minimum 5+ years #39; experience in Canadian and US high-volume payroll processing.
  • In depth knowledge of legislation and compliance requirements related to Canadian and US payroll
  • Post-secondary undergraduate degree or diploma with a specialization in Human Resources Management, Finance or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Professional credential (e.g. Payroll Compliance Practitioner, Certified Payroll Manager, Project Management Professional)
  • 1-2 years #39; experience in construction or related industry with both Canadian and US Portfolios is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and reporting using PowerBI, Excel, Crystal Reports and other reporting tools
  • Union or CBA experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting stringent weekly deadlines while providing a high level of customer service
  • Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities.
