This position comes with a comprehensive dental, health and drug benefits package, three weeks of annual vacation, and numerous professional development and training opportunities.Job Purpose: Working with the HR team, our People Services Partner will help deliver a compliant, wellness-centered Human Resources model which is informed by traditional Indigenous teachings and ways of being.This key member of our team will act as an HR Generalist, supporting the hard-working staff and management at Boyle Street Community Services with a high level of customer service throughout the employee life cycle.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Working closely with the HR Director and team, they will:· Act as an inhouse resource for management, supporting with interviews, terminations, and performance issues over a range of sectors· Supporting coaching and training initiatives· Facilitate sessions (including onboarding)· With the onsite Recruiter, establish best practices in our hiring· Building relationships with partner agencies and educational institutions· Support Human Resources projects· Identify items for escalation or investigation to the Human Resources Director through metrics and established communication· Provide general information and assistance internally and externally· With stakeholders, focus our efforts on ensuring that Boyle Street is a rewarding, safe, and great place to work for all of our team membersEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree / Certificate in Human Resources Management
  • Minimum 2 year experience in HR Coordinator / Generalist role
  • Criminal Record Check & Child and Youth Intervention Check (reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Employment and labour standards proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Interest in / understanding of Indigenous traditional teachings and ways of being
Nice to have:
  • Occupational Health & Safety or Worker’s Compensation
  • Experience conducting HR investigations
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by our city’s vulnerable / experience in the charitable sector
