Job Description

Is this job for you:WELCOME HOME!The Brick is actively seeking to expand our Studio Photography team. Are you looking for experience in a commercial photography studio Do you enjoy being creative and hands-on We are looking for a professional photographer who is organized, energetic, and creative to join our growing team! This is a one-year temporary position with the possibility of extension.*REQUIRED: You must submit your portfolio for this job posting*Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our in-house photography team to create high quality images of furniture, appliances, electronics and related items as required
  • Operation of small, medium and large format digital cameras
  • Assist in the construction of room sets. Heavy lifting is required
  • Photograph special projects such as portraits, public relations and architectural subjects
  • Maintain records of completed assignments
  • Lighting with tungsten and strobe lighting equipment
  • Maintain studio equipment and ordering supplies
  • Communicate effectively with team members in the Advertising, Marketing, Purchasing and Internet departments
Qualifications:
  • Detail oriented
  • Organized and reliable
  • Enthusiastic about learning new skills and techniques
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with teammates
  • Knowledge of camera and lighting equipment. Experience with studio lighting is an asset.
  • Bring a passionate and creative approach to all your images, but be open to constructive criticism to ensure work delivered meets set standards
  • Can take direction and complete assigned tasks within the set deadline
  • Physically able to help with set builds—moving heavy objects, painting, taking down sets, use of ladders etc.
Education
  • Education; College level certificate/diploma or equivalent experience
  • Previous studio work is an asset
