The division provides adaptive, robust and holistic policy advice, sound programs, and innovative solutions to government, agencies, stakeholders, and all Albertans.RoleReporting to the Manager, Environment and Technology Integration, the Policy Analyst is responsible for conducting research and working with colleagues and management from within Energy and other departments and agencies to develop briefing materials and correspondence, options, and recommendations for senior government leadership. The Policy Analyst will be responsible for communicating directly with stakeholders from industry and public, ensuring that accurate information is provided.The Policy Analyst will provide analysis and support the development of policies needed to continue the environmental improvement of Alberta’s electricity system while ensuring affordability and reliability are not compromised.The successful incumbent will have the ability to function within a complex, diverse and changing environment; be able to quickly assess complex situations, make recommendations to leadership, while being able to effectively manage time and resources to help achieve the Government of Alberta’s strategic priorities. This position requires a dedicated team player with strong communication and leadership skills to consult, facilitate, coordinate, and implement decisions that are integral to the success of the Government’s vision and objectives for Alberta’s electricity system.QualificationsUniversity graduation in business, economics, environmental sciences, natural resource sciences, public administration or a related field plus 2 years of relevant and progressively responsible related experience or equivalent as described below.Equivalency:Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
