Job Description

ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITYAn exciting opportunity to be part of and support the Black & McDonald National Procurement Team across North America. The Procurement Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Procurement. This role will assist with the overall administration for the National Procurement Department.Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in procurement activities (purchase orders, expediting, quotations, sourcing, etc.)
  • Promptly and professionally respond to all internal and external customers
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets / databases for tracking procurement activities as required
  • Assist in providing the supplier with a purchase order to establish a contract and facilitate billing
  • Provide and track purchase orders to designate sites for field-generated purchases
  • Data entry, collection and interpretation from various sources
  • Update and revise necessary information on SharePoint
  • Data entry of requests for materials and services through JD Edwards system
  • Documentation control – photocopy and collate documents for distribution, mailing and filing
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets / databases for tracking procurement activities as required
  • Support the National Procurement team on key initiatives and meeting the needs of the teams internal stakeholders
  • Support with supplier evaluation and selection
  • Initiate and track approval cycle
  • Other administrative duties include booking meetings and travel, taking minutes of meeting, and submitting expense claims on behalf of the team

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • University degree will be an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 1-5 years of procurement and contract administration experience in a technical industry such as Construction, Utilities, Facility Management, and Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of North America Markets, Suppliers and Regulations. Global market knowledge will be an asset
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of procurement systems (i.e. SAP, Ariba, Oracle, JDE, etc.)
  • High degree of competency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
  • Demonstrated commitment to meeting and/or exceeding customers expectations
  • Highly motivated, efficient and focused
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Comfortable with repetitive and high attention to detail tasks
  • A real team player with the desire and ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done with a “Hands on” approach to tasks
