In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services. _Applied Industrial Technologies LP is an extensive network of industrial distribution facilities located throughout Canada. We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of of Product Manager – Bearing, Power Transmission and Material Handling. The location is flexible for any metropolitan area applied operates in: Greater Vancouver Area (Delta), Calgary, Edmonton/Nisku, Greater Toronto Area (Downsview), Montreal, Quebec CityThe Position:Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager – Procurement, the Product Manager role has an immediate impact on both our customers and on our Service Center performance. This individual will be responsible for researching, assisting and analyzing our Bearing, Power Transmission and Material Handling offering, assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize profit and meet corporate growth objectives, while supporting field personnel in their sales of Bearing, Power Transmission and Material Handling.Responsibilities:

  • Participate in overall product strategy and development requirements to grow sales
  • Drive the planning, negotiation and evaluation of new products, vendor agreements/programs and services
  • Manage marketing, communication and sales programs with key vendors and suppliers
  • Work with our Supply Chain – Asset Management and our Service Centers across the country to effectively manage product line inventory levels at our Distribution Centers
  • Preferred Vendor Buy Program strategy and Utilization in Conjunction with procurement team
  • Pricing Recommendations and Collaboration with sales teams and pricing team
Requirements:
  • 5 – 10 years of Bearing, Power Transmission and Material Handling experience, or product management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, sales, marketing related fields or any equivalent related technical degree
  • Sales and marketing experience,
  • Proven strong negotiation skills
  • Well organized with attention to details
  • Analytical and problem solving capability
  • Self motivated and the ability to work independently

  • Exceptional critical thinking to help identify educational gaps, analyze findings, and make recommendations while articulating next steps.
  • Creativity and experience bringing new programs and ideas to fruition.
  • Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical action, identify the highest impact ideas and plans and focus efforts by resource allocation.
  • Superior collaboration skills including the ability to advise, integrate and act upon the unique requirements of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work in a collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders – managers, employees, leadership, etc.
