Job Description

Boyle Street Plaza and Melcor YMCA Welcome Village are important community resources that strive to make a difference in their local community. We are seeking a Program Manager to further the vision of these facilities and oversee the daily operations, which also includes the Shirley Stollery Child Care which is managed separately.in this role, you will collaborate with local community partners and establish new relationships to deliver relevant programs and generate revenue through rentals of the Boyle Street Community Centre. You will also be responsible for the overall management of the Melcor YMCA Village, which is a near-market apartment unit. The community in which this facility operates can present challenges, so we are seeking an upbeat and optimistic individual to be a positive force in the area who has experience working with marginalized populations.   • Effective development and management of the Boyle Street Plaza and Melcor YMCA Village
  • Develop and manage programs, services to achieve annual branch and association goals
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and contributes this expertise to identify and initiate quality continuous improvement
  • Build new and maintains current relationships with mutually beneficial external community stakeholders (agencies, corporations, government agencies, school boards, donors, and funders)
  • Develop, monitor and manage approved budgets to meet (or exceed) program and financial targets and/or contractual obligations
  • Management and participation in on call rotation
What You’ll Need
  • University Degree in Human Services, Business, Recreation or related field
  • 3-4 years’ experience in staff and/or volunteer management
  • Experience in community development, near market housing and/or facility rentals an asset
  • An ability to make the Y feel like a place where all can belong
  • Be an active community member who understand civic responsibility and the importance of relationships
  • Highly organized and dependable
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
  • Must be able to able to quickly travel to the facility in the event of an emergency
  • Strong computer skills with Office 365 word, excel and other applications an asset
