We strive to provide our employees with meaningful and challenging work, and an engaging and collaborative environment.Michels Canada headquarters is based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada.DESCRIPTIONMichels Canada is looking for Project Quality Manager to implement the Quality Management Program. This position will apply Quality Controls in accordance with project specifications to meet the customer requirements. The successful candidate will be performing a wide range of tasks and support business priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in Edmonton and will frequently travel to projects as required.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Ensuring that quality is always a priority while work is being performed
  • Ensuring systems, plans and procedures are consistent with company goals, objectives, and quality policy
  • Consulting with Executive and Project Management to develop and draft Quality Plans and Procedures which are consistent with the Quality Policy and Objectives
  • Ensuring that quality controls are carried out in accordance with the Quality Plan
  • Preparing, revising, and distributing the required Quality Plan, ITPs, and QC Inspection Forms
  • Developing and coordinating necessary training initiatives for personnel with respect to the quality program
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in on-site Internal/External quality Audits
  • Ensuring quality checklists are completed for each operation to verify that areas of work have been completed in conformance with project requirements
  • Maintaining a system of records for quality documents onsite (i.e. NCRs, checklists, mill certificates, etc.)
  • Reviewing supplier/subcontractor Quality Plans
  • Monitoring testing and inspection procedures to ensure compliance with the QMP, and project specifications
  • Coordinating and communicating with the Company and their representatives on quality issues/topics
  • Dealing directly with project staff regarding the quality of workmanship, results of tests, and the required corrective actions
  • Having the authority to stop work in the event of poor workmanship or failure to follow the Quality Management Program (QMP)
  • Reviewing/ assisting with Construction Work Packages/ Method Statements to ensure that all quality elements are included
  • Ensuring work is performed in compliance with all applicable plans and specifications and that non-conforming work is identified and corrective action is documented
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • 10 + years field experience in quality management
  • Experience in creating, implementing, maintaining and monitoring a QMP
  • Developing and coordinating necessary training initiatives for personnel with respect to a quality program
  • Non-Conformance Management experience
  • Thorough knowledge4 of ISO: 9001-2015
  • Thorough knowledge of CSA Z245.30-18, CSA Z662-19, and CSA W47.1-19/W59-18
  • Auditing experience
  • Certified as NACE CIP Level 2 or CSA 178.2 CWB Level 3 is an asset
LANGUAGES
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
