Purchasing and Logistics OfficerEvaluating SuppliersThe Purchasing and Logistic Officer ensures the organization works with competent and reliable suppliers. To do this, he collaborates with other senior procurement officials to evaluate all potential suppliers before entering into supply contracts. They will also organize transportation of purchased goods. For example, if a company buys desktop computers from an overseas manufacturer, the officer may hire a cargo airline to deliver the products. For local purchases, the logistics procurement officer can dispatch the company’s cargo vehicles to transport the goods from the suppliers store to a warehouse. A Purchasing and Logistic Manager identifies and address barriers that decrease operational efficiency in the procurement department.Key Responsibilities- Purchase goods using ERP system as required in an accurate and timely manner.- Maintain accurate dates on all orders- Work with suppliers/logistic firms to build relationships, ensure the best pricing, and source alternative suppliers as required.- Ensure inventory is well managed by assisting with cycle counts and stock takes.- Work with Sales & General Manager to ensure the most economical methods of transport are used for importation.- Work with the Accounts, R&D and Production teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.- Other related tasks as required.Expected Outcomes- Ensure high quality of goods purchased and received- Supplier Assessment and Evaluation completed accurately and on time.- Inventory counts and amendments are processed accurately and efficiently.Person Specification- Technically-minded- An eye for detail and the ability to maintain a very high level of accuracy.- Good communication skills.- Proficient in both verbal and written English.- Good organizational skills to prioritizing tasks and meet deadlines.- An experienced team player who meets and exceeds team goals.- Self-motivated, positive and willing to learn and adapt to market changes- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the integrity of the companySpecific Duties:- Sorel reports and invoice- Month end closuresJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $28.00-$33.00 per hourAdditional pay:
