Salary: Market relatedReference: JOB-35874THE OPPORTUNITYOur Edmonton based client has been in the food industry for over 50 years. Their culture and the care of their employee are the recipes of the long-standing business.They are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their growing team in Edmonton. They are looking for someone with 5 years+ of experience in the food industry, familiar with ERP or MRP system, pro-active and responsible, has a positive mind, and able to work with various departments.If this sounds like you, please apply to us right away, we do not want to miss out a talent like you!* This is a Monday to Friday, full time, permanent position with a flexible start date – details will be discussed during the interview*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Work closely with the shipping department, suppliers, and trucking companies.
  • Variable hours - may need to come in on PM shift occasionally to work with staff on inventory control (rare occasion)
  • Work/ control monthly cycle counts. Full inventory every 6 months
  • Can work with sudden changes/ rush orders
  • Be observant and understanding about the companys protocols
  • Be able to provide assistance in various departments when needed
  • Positive attitude with the ability to get along with others
  • Utilize past experience for both company and personal growth
  • Has a “To-do’ attitude
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in inventory control software – experience in “Fishbowl” would be an asset.
  • ERP or MRP experience – preferably ERP as were looking for someone who understand risk management and ensuring we have the product when needed not ordering last minute.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Food industry with manufacturing experience
  • Strong understanding in inventory control, shipment procedure, estimating of time for arrival, and shipment tracking
  • Must be willing to advance in the role.
  • Experience in distribution would be an asset.
