Job Description

Inovata Foods Corp. is currently looking for a QA Specialist to work at our Edmonton, Alberta location.Located in Edmonton, Alberta with a partnered facility in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Inovata Foods is a major producer of high-quality frozen meals for prominent clients throughout North America.Our Vision Statement:We create wholesome and convenient meals that bring family and friends together since 1989.Our "RECIPE" for Success Core Values:Respect, Engagement, Courage, Integrity, Passion & ExcellenceShift:This will be a salaried position and will work Monday to Friday.Candidate will need to be flexible and available for evening and weekends as our production facility is 24 hours.General Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular trending data on ATP and microbiological swab results collected
  • Work closely with Managers and Supervisors to set-up validation programs
  • Set-up and maintenance of the in-house microbiology program
  • Ensure microbiological program is effective and functioning
  • Provides training and coaching to QA Technicians and other QA Members when required
  • Reviews and signs off on all microbiological COAs
  • Liaise with Customer Service to prioritize micro plating requirements over weekends and holidays
  • Communication with QA Technicians and QA Manager regarding requirements for off-shift plating
  • Responsible for managing inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Assist in the maintenance of good employee relations through on-going communication, counseling, and coaching
  • Assist in training of hourly employees of GMPs Food Safety, Quality, HACCP Programs, and Food Security
  • Manage HACCP programs
  • In unison with the QA Manager, ensure department is following the Company safety policies and Applicable health and safety legislation
  • Monitor and direct the activities of the Food Safety/HACCP Team
  • Assist with all Quality Assurance duties as required
SKILLS REQUIRED / EXPECTED:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred
  • Thorough understand of HAACP
  • Strong computer literacy (especially in the use of excel)
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Desire to work on a team
  • Open to learning new skills
