Job Description

WHAT:We are looking for a contract photographer to shoot photos, create virtual tours, capture room measurements, and handle other creative requests from clients. We are looking for a long-term, win-win subcontract relationship.WHO:US: We are a young but experienced company offering media services primarily to real estate agents, builders, architects, and designers in Edmonton and surrounding communities. We provide photography, virtual tours, measurements, drone photography, and video services. We are mostly a volume shop, where fast and efficient workflows combine with quality results.YOU: Are friendly, professional, adaptable, motivated, detail-oriented, thorough, able to work independently — and of course, you love photography like we do. You know how to enjoy yourself even when under pressure. You are COVID conscious and diligent around clients and homeowners.DUTIES:A typical day looks like this:

  • TRAVEL: Travel to a property.
  • ON-SITE: Interact with realtor and/or homeowners and tenants.
  • ON-SITE: Ensure the property is ready to shoot.
  • ON-SITE: Photograph + create virtual tour + measure property.
  • ON-SITE: Ensure property is locked up.
  • ON-SITE: Repeat for any additional bookings that day. (Could be up to 3 per day, depending on demand and your availability.)
  • HOME/OFFICE: Retouch photos, process virtual tour and measurement data.
  • HOME/OFFICE: Because this industry is time-sensitive, the day’s work must be completed and uploaded by the end of the day.
SCHEDULE:You will submit your availability on our scheduling system and as we get busier, you will get busier. You can schedule around other shoots or commitments you have. In general, our clients want shoots Monday-Friday from 9 AM-5 PM. Occasionally they will ask for weekend shoots but we discourage that, because who wants to work on sunny summer weekends (However, if you want to shoot on weekends too, we can make that happen.)WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • 1-2 years experience with photography with a strong understanding of exposure and composition.
  • A reliable vehicle.
  • A professional-level full-frame DSLR or mirrorless camera.
  • A professional-level wide angle lens. (We mostly use a Canon 16-35.)
  • A speedlight.
  • Proficiency with your camera gear.
  • A sturdy tripod, ideally with a ball head.
  • A computer for retouching using Lightroom Classic.
  • A license for Lightroom Classic.
  • A monitor calibrated for colour accuracy.
  • A fast internet connection for uploading your work.
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
  • Specialized virtual tour camera gear.
  • Option to rent a camera body + lens from us.
  • Scheduling and client communication systems.
  • Training + support.
WHEN:Beginning as soon as possible and ongoing as demand warrants. Our busy season is March through November.REMUNERATION:
  • To be discussed based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and availability.
  • We expect that the right team member should be able to make in excess of $50,000/year.
  • Potential for year-round earnings. (Busy season is March to November, slower season is the winter months.)
