We are also part of Heidelberg Cement Group, one of the world’s largest building materials companiesThe Regional Human Resources Services Manager will be responsible for the oversight of training plans, the annual performance management cycle, hourly recruitment, leading major projects and liaising with Corporate Employee Services groups. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and sits in Edmonton, AB.What You’ll Get to Do :

  • Oversee Regional compensation requirements including position and compensation evaluation, advising on and creating salary recommendations, and management of annual salary and non-union production employee merit cycle
  • Manage full cycle hourly recruitment function for Canada Region including position requisition and approval, posting, sourcing, interview and candidate selection
  • Recommend and execute strategies for acquiring and developing talent across all levels of the organization
  • Manage reporting functions for HR department including data tracking and analysis, providing HR statistics for management teams, and compiling and publishing monthly and annual year end human resources reporting
  • Provide HR leadership and direction on Region wide initiatives including coordinating with Corporate Employee Services on key initiatives and projects
  • Design, develop and implement policies and procedures for HR management
  • Conduct newhire orientations and support onboarding requirements
  • Monitor and report on training activities, maintain training records and ensure completion of training programs
  • Assess training needs for current and future talent development, and recommend training programs
  • Coach managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with expected practices and behaviours
  • Coordinate with Benefits department on evaluating and continuous improvement of processes
  • Key contributor in shaping workplace culture and employee engagement and retention programs
  • Minimize risk and ensure compliance in the organization by advising and counseling management in the areas of Company policy, Employment Laws, Human Rights, and related legislation
Essential Experience and Skills :
  • Post-Secondary in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years HR management experience
  • Working knowledge of Federal and Provincial labor and employment laws and regulations is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office products
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of change management principles, strategies and techniques required for effectively evaluating, planning, and implementing change in the organization

  • Role operates in an office and manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
