Job Description

Location: Ohamil (Sqemel Lalem) Hope, BCAbout Us - operating out of beautiful Squamish BC between the mountains, Sea to Sky, Landsea specializes in providing workforce accommodation and catering solutions for projects in remote locations throughout BC and Western Canada. Shift schedules are typically between 10-12 hours (day or night) and are typically 14 days on and 14 days off, depending on the camp. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from camp locations. Excellent Health and Wellness benefits are offered after three months.Still interestedLandSea is currently looking for a HSE Advisor for our Ohamil (Sqemel Lalem) Hope, BC camp location. Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will work closely with Camp managers and supervisors and assist with safety related tasks as well as lead and attend team meetings. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testingGeneral Duties and Responsibilities

  • Encourages and promotes a safe work culture with a positive attitude and team approach
  • Performs various levels of worksite Health Safety and Environmental inspections and audits and follows through with appropriate levels of coaching and support for all corrective actions
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions. Complete Root Cause Analysis, develop, implement, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Assistance in development of Job Safety Analysis to update and complete safe job practices and procedures
  • Lead and participate in toolbox meetings, weekly safety meetings, client, support and facilitate JHSC team meetings as required
  • Work closely with the client and meet federal and provincial legislation requirements
  • Works with employees, supervisors, and management to identify potential hazards (FLHA)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current OH&S legislation, Federal and Provincial laws as well as company standards and policies
  • Provide mentoring to workers and leaders in maintaining safe work habits and practices
  • Proactively identifies leading indicators and trends in the field and communicates the same back to the field and corporate
  • Communicates established policies, practices and procedures to workers and remains informed on changes provided from the Corporate HSE Manager
Job Qualifications
  • Five plus (5+) years Health and Safety experience working on large projects
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (current abstract must be provided)
  • National Construction Safety Officer designation (NCSO)
  • Current Mental Health First Aid designation and minimum OFA I First Aid designation
  • Familiar with DNV SCAT – Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong computer skills (Adobe, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Current - Ground Disturbance II, CSE Monitor and Entry, Fall Protection, Incident Command System (ICS 100)
  • Food Safe minimum Level 1
  • Willingness to work and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule (14/14)

Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time;
  • Fast and repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists;
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 lbs;
  • Use hands to handle objects and tools.
Other Requirements
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol clearance;
  • Completion of LandSea safety and compliance training;
  • Completion of ISNET (site specific) orientation training;
  • Must have Government issued identification required for air travel.
