This ministry supports Albertans through a person-centred, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families. The ministry also provides oversight for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.RoleDo you have a passion for collecting, aggregating, and analyzing data If so, Alberta Seniors and Housing has an exciting opportunity for you!Reporting to the Manager, Research and Analytics, this position is responsible for supporting research and policy development for the Housing Division. This position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to collect information. The successful candidate will work on short and/or long term assignments to research, develop, and implement research and policy initiatives; gather and assess demographic information; provide support to monthly reporting and tracking initiatives; summarize data; and conduct and analyze surveys.As the ideal candidate you will exercise professionalism, initiative, excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills, and a commitment to working in a collaborative team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to carry out duties in a timely and accurate fashion are necessary to succeed in this position. Well-developed problem solving, analytical, research, and decision-making skills are also required.QualificationsMinimum Requirements for this Role:Diploma in social sciences, humanities, public policy, political science or related field.Equivalencies will be considered as per below.Equivalency: Directly related education or experience will be considered on the basis of:1 year of experience for 1 year of education.Assets for this role:

  • Experience in a policy and/or research environment.
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working with computer systems and software including MS Office (Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with statistics - using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Experience with databases (SQL), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks) and R programming languages.
