Job Description

Not satisfied with just providing Edmontonians with a great dining opportunity, the team at LUX set about ‘raising the bar’ as well, offering patrons a finer place to sip & socialize. The rich tones, soft fabrics, stunning millwork and feature waterfall wall make BAR94 a definite destination for the business traveler and Edmonton’s social fabric. In addition to housing a New York style long bar, guests can enjoy the full steakhouse menu and wash it down with an extensive list of premium select alcohols, wines by the glass, martinis, classic cocktails and craft beers.We are seeking an experienced and driven individual for Restaurant Host/Hostess position. The successful candidates will be passionate about providing a fanatical guest experience. Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, Restaurant Host/Hostess are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the restaurant including both food & drink menus, reservation processes, customer service, and guest requested. By adhering to the steps of service they answer questions, provide recommendations, and create a positive fanatical experience. Restaurant Host/Hostesses maintain an immaculately restaurant environment and monitor guests while upholding Century Hospitality Groups presentation standards.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a fanatical guest experience through all guest interactions including phone calls, reservations, greeting and seating
  • Exemplary knowledgeable of all aspects of our business and willingness to beyond our valued guests expectations.
  • Ability to communicate highly detailed information to our guests and team members
  • Have a minimum of 2 years in a fine dining or upscale dining establishment
  • Ensure accuracy when entering information into OpenTable or POS systems.
  • Maintain a high degree of presentation standards
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of front of house and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems
  • Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
  • Complete opening, closing and side-duties efficiently and safely
  • You are an out going, positive, and energetic individual who can work solo or as a part of a team.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment
  • ProServe Certification a requirement
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills and sales ability
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High level of product knowledge
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
